As this year comes to a close we are proud to announce that we have been included in David “Doc” Diaz’s 6th Annual Stogie Fresh Gold Star Awards for his favorite cigars of the year. This yearly list is provided because he believes that, “whether large, medium, or small, all cigar manufacturers should be rewarded for their efforts to create CONSISTENTLY HIGH QUALITY CIGARS.”

Doc take the time to review cigars multiple times over the course of many months. This allows him to separate what he calls, “flash in the pan” cigars, from “those that are consistently good. The Stogie Fresh 2012 Honor Roll identifies cigars that are CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT IN FLAVOR AND CONSTRUCTION.”

“The Regius Robusto is impeccable from the outside in. The wrapper leaf has great sheen and delicate vein structure. The band is beautiful and gives the whole presentation a step up in class. The Regius jumps out of the gate with full body and flavor, and yet the strength is not overpowering. The flavors exhibit oak wood, espresso and a savory finish. As the cigar progressed I noted some baker’s cocoa come into the flavor profile.”
